B.E.A.M. Microschool Academy
(Proposed Opening Date: August 2025)
The acronym B.E.A.M. stands for Building Entrepreneurs Academically and Mindfully. After conducting extensive research concerning how learners learn and why the achievement gap is not closing for a specific population of students, we believe it is time for a model that incorporates 21st-century skills that students need to succeed in the information age.
The B.E.A.M Micro-School Academy we are designing takes these skills and embeds them into a holistic wrap-around project-based model. The curriculum uses "entrepreneurial skills" to reinforce literacy, numeracy, oracy, problem-solving, and wayfinding skills. The model will also focus on developing students' self-efficacy, resilience, and emotional intelligence. Likewise it will allow students to practice real-world communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
The Micro-School model is a 21st-century one-room schoolhouse that incorporates the latest research, cutting-edge technology, and emotional competency. B.E.A.M. Academy Micro-School will provide students with a tailored educational experience emphasizing personalized learning, small group sizes, and a supportive environment. The Micro-School model will also enable teachers to provide more individualized attention to each student, allowing them to focus on each student's needs and goals.
